There was a story in the Cumberland Evening Times newspaper back when the car was moved to the lake. It was a really interesting way that it was taken there. It went as far as Swanton on the B&O and then unloaded onto trucks that had rubber tires instead of flanged wheels. Two tractor trailer cabs, one up front pulling and one in the back pushing moved it to it's final location. (info from Don Biggs)
Photo of WM 204 taken by Don Biggs' father in October 1964. Notice the cribbing still under 204 as she must have recently arrived at Deep Creek Lake.
Two more photos take by Don Biggs' father of 204 in Oct, 64'.
Four photos of WM 204 much later than 1964. The car has it trucks and set on two short sections of track. The paint is faded and looks as if 3 windows may be boarded up due to possible vandalism. (4 photos taken by Gerald Altizer)
